Hot crusty bread sliced and served with olive oil, cheese and pepper		I'm a vegetarian but couldn't resist taking a picture of this giant mortadella.	Pannelli is made from chick pea flour and then fried in slices. It is sometimes used as a filling in bread rolls.

Fish and meat are a very important part of many meals in Sicily, and if you are vegetarian you are looked on as an object of curiosity! Buying food at bars can be quite tricky because if you ask if things contain meat, you will often be told "No, no meat, just ham"!
