Farms in Sicily |
| Places > Farms in Sicily |
Many Sicilians like to escape to the Sicilian countryside. A lot of people in towns in Sicily have small plots of land or farms. People go to their sicilian farmhouses to either grow food or simply to take a break. The pictures on this page are of my brother-in-law's farm in Agrigento in Sicily. Although I have never spent my entire holiday on a farm in Sicily, I understand that there are companies that specialise in these sorts of holidays - there are some links to them in the adverts on this site. I must admit that the places in the links that I have clicked on do look very tempting. |

Grape vines are very popular. Most of these will be turned into a potent home brewed wine. |

The artichokes on the right were picked, cooked and put in with a pasta dish not long after this photo was taken. |

Of course it's not all about food. Flowers are grown and there is a lots of space to relax as well. |

The road leading up to the farm is no more than a dirt track. You really feel like you are escaping from the town. |
