Travel Guides

Traveling around in Sicily is extremely easy. There is a coach network that spans the island and can take you extremely cheaply to most towns and cities. Coaches are extremely cheap to use and are also often in my experience quite empty. A good thing, especially in the summer months is that they are air conditioned. The train network around sicily is also very good. Once at train stations and bus terminals you can often either hire a car or jump in a taxi (don't forget to haggle over price) an continue on to your destination. Taxis can also be hired very reasonably for the day to take you around. This can be very good, especially if you have an experienced driver that speaks your language.

There are a vast range of guides available and you can click here to see more. Out of all the travel guides listed I have used the Rough Guide. It is very informative and as with most travel guides it is an essential item to take away with you when visiting somewhere new. However I always find that the best and most authentic experiences often happen when you explore by yourself.
